Hey everyone!! Well for my English class, we are "instructed" lol to pick a free reading book! (one of our choice) I love these kinds of projects! Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone has any "Good" book recommendations?
Well,I'm not big on HP, (am not into that at all actually) neither fantacy type books, and horror books, I have to be in the mood to read them. I loved James Fries "A Million Little Pieces" and "My Friend Lennerd", I read a good book about this girl named Opal and how she got into harvard, it was an awesome book, and it really relates to anyone my age, and Juniors/Ceniors, in High School. (or at least I know completely how Opel felt). Its an awesome book, I can't remember the name of it it's a super long name though!! Well if anyone has any book recommendations, please post them here!!!!!!! :) Thanks, Amber
PS Were going to borders tomorrow, hopefully sometime before we go I can refer to this topic! Thanks so much and have a good night everyone!

I've read some pretty awesome stuff by now. Here's a list, in no particular order ...

Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause
The Color Purple by Alice Walker
Exodus by Leon Uris
Fall On Your Knees by Ann-marie MacDonald
The Giver by Lois Lowry
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
Lightning by Dean Koontz
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
The Shining by Stephen King
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Anne Brashares

Um, is that enough so far? A lot of these books are pretty intense, but then, I like intense ... Hope this helps.

Hello, a book i read in highschool was a land to remember by Patrick Smith. It is about Florida and family as florida is developing. It covers 3 generations so if you are not good at keeping up it is not for you. If you do read it let me know.

Ooo I love The Lovely Bones. I have that in Audio format on my bookshelf here. It's a really good book about a girl who gets raped and killed and then she watches over her family and sees what happens after her death. I have an audio book website that might help you if you want to look at it, you can sort the books by author, genre, or recording studio, since the studios are professional, not like nls. Anyway, the website is www.themillionweb.net/books
Let me know if you're interested in anything that I've got up there, there's a lot to look at, since all the books have the descriptions I think.
Catch ya later

Hey peoples! Okay, a book you should read is "So Far Away" The author is me! It should be out in bookstores, but it kind of depends on where you live. It's about me and my boyfriend, how we met and the events of the weekend. Girls, this is a totally romantic book. Guys, if you want something more action like, then read "If I Die Tomorrow" It's by my boyfriend. Interested? Then either pm me, or pqn me.

I didn't have to read this book for school or anything. It was just out of interest. It's called Night. Written by a Holocaust survivor, it really gives you a very good idea of what happened in those concentration camps during World War II. I mean, you read about this stuff in history class in school, but actually reading a survivor's nightmarish accounrts can help you understand the horific events of that time. Very sad.

I'd certainly recommend the Harry Potter books or JRR Tolkien, the Hobbit, Lord Of The Rings and The Silmarillion. Read the Silmarillion first of all, then the hobbit, then the Lord of the Rings, as they are after all, a series of books. I have them all, unabbridged on cassette and CD and never once regretted it, lollol.

I love reading, and have read a lot of books. People have already recomended James Patterson, so I won't rave about his books. I also read the lovely bones, and I thought it was a good book. Tuesday with Mori was another great one, it really made me think. Here are my recomendations. Running with scissors by Augusten Burroughs. It's a memoir about the author's childhood. His mother pretty much gives him away to her psychologist. It was also a movie, but I've never seen it. Other books by this author are Dry a memoir about him dealing with his alcoholism and how he goes to a rehab center. I loved this one. Two other books by him are called Magical think, and other true stories, and Possible Side Effects. They're pretty much a collection of essays and stories about his life. Oh and one more wonderful book is called The Perks of being a Wallflower. It's about this boy named Charlie, and it's letters that he writes about his life. He always addresses them "dear friend" It's a little like the catcher in the rye. I loved it. Also 19 minutes by Jodi Picoult. It's about a high school shooting and how the town reacts and deals with it. Ok, I'll be quiet and let other's give they're recomendations

Lol! HP, definitely! Never avoid it. Mwahahahahahahaha! No, no, just kidding there! Well, the Silmarillion, huh? I love Lotr, but fell asleep during that thing. Not my cup of tea.

The scissors book I just got recommended to.

Um, I didn't mention Dickens did I? Yeah, Great Expectations is great! I love Pip, well, not when he was a gentle folk, though. Oliver Twist is also quite a good one. I loved the part when he asked for more. Poor dear.
